You're excited about putting together a vacation scrapbook, but the pictures that you have in front of you seem less than thrilling. Actually, they didn't turn out half as well as you had hoped they would, and now you're left wondering how you can possibly be creative enough to make this trip's book look as fabulous as the trip was. It can be frustrating when our own photography skills get in the way of the creation of some very special memory books. There are some ways, though, that you can better capture your next vacation in photos, so that the scrapbook will basically put itself together. You don't need to invest in a professional-grade camera, but you will need to make sure that you have enough supplies to make it through the entire trip. If you have a digital camera, as most people do, you will want to bring an extra memory card and lithium batteries so that you are sure to be able to capture every event. For film cameras, plan to use about 2 rolls every day, and use 400 speed film to avoid blurry photos. It's also a good idea to bring notebooks to journal in as you go through your trip, which will help you identify photos later and remember details to include in the scrapbook later. But what will really make your vacation scrapbook more interesting is by introducing a little bit of creativity into your photographs. Take pictures of the weird, wacky, and funny sights that you have seen along the way, such as oddly worded billboards, or giant plastic animals. Take pictures of road signs, kids playing or sleeping in the car, or some great food. Capture the spirit of the trip in the photos, rather than trying to make your very own vacation brochure. You'll be guaranteed to never have another dull vacation scrapbook. |
