3 Tips for Travel Scrapbooking

When families travel, they usually take a lot of pictures. Unfortunately, most of those pictures are either left in an envelope, tossed in a box, or remain locked away in a memory card. Wouldn't it be better to showcase your pictures from Hawaii in a beautiful scrapbook? Here are three tips to help you put together your travel scrapbook.

1. Write your experiences in a journal. You might have beautiful pictures of the ocean or colorful hibiscus flowers, but what were you thinking or feeling at the time? What was going on when you were taking the picture? What compelled you to take a picture? Years down the road, you probably won't remember. By taking the time to write down your thoughts at the end of each day, you'll end up with great notes you can include with each picture in your scrapbook. It will make your scrapbook that much more personal and special.

2. Include actual mementos from your trip. This might include postcards, ticket stubs, a pretty leaf, a brochure of your hotel, business cards from the restaurants you ate it, or anything else that seems to fit. Tangible mementos like these will make your trip that much more real to people who read your scrapbook.

3. Consider creating your travel scrapbook while you're on your trip. You can buy your scrapbook materials ahead of time, or buy extras while you're on your trip. You can work on your scrapbook whenever you have some down time, such as when you're on the plane or on a train. You'll be much more focused and excited about your travel scrapbook while on your trip; afterwards, it's easy to procrastinate until you forget all the important details.
