These are some pictures from the Luray Cavern. The Luray Cavern is located  970  US Highway  211, West Luray Virginia. It is in the Shenandoah Valley east of the Allegheny Mountains. The cavern has been open to the public since 1878. There have been over 300 weddings performed in the cavern. Luray Cavern is the largest and the most popular cavern in eastern America. The cavern has a constant temperature of 54 degrees year round. There are 1.25 miles of paved well lighted trails in the cavern.  All the coloration are natural due to the minerals in the seeping ground water.  Stalactites hang from the ceiling "c" hold tite. Stalagmites are on the ground reaching up, "g" ground up  "mite reach the cealing someday".  Luray Cavern is still growing at a rate of 1 cubic inch every 120 years.
