Hawaiian Island-Hopping

Hawaii has long been considered one of the best vacation spots in the U.S. Each of Hawaii’s six main islands offers a unique experience, and for a growing number of vacationers, “island hopping” has become an exciting Hawaiian adventure.

For most visitors, Oahu is where most of the action is. It’s where you’ll find the famous Waikiki, a resort playground of sorts, and visitors can enjoy all the amenities of big city life. Oahu is home to some of the state’s most popular visitor attractions, such as the USS Arizona Memorial, National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, and Polynesian Cultural Center.

Kauai is Hawaii’s most romantic island. Famous for some of the most breathtaking natural wonders, Kauai is rich in unspoiled natural beauty, and a favorite backdrop for Hollywood film producers. The Big Island of Hawaii is twice the size of all other Hawaiian islands combined. There are plenty of recreational opportunities, from horseback riding and hiking to biking and fishing. The Big Island also has 5 volcanoes, including the world’s most active volcano, Kilauea.

Maui offers an ideal blend of sophistication and nature. It isn’t as crowded as Oahu, but it is more refined than its sister islands. There is something for everyone in Maui: family attractions, world-class performing arts, scenic wonders, and hidden natural gems.

Molokai is the island where you “get away from it all.” There are no traffic lights or neon signs; no buildings taller than a palm tree. With its laid-back lifestyle, Molokai offers activities such as golf, camping, hiking and the world-famous mule ride down to historic Kalaupapa.

The last of the islands is Lanai, which has transformed from an agriculture-based island to a beautiful resort with two championship golf courses, two distinctive hotels, pristine beaches, and much more. This resort island offers scuba diving, snorkeling, clay shooting, biking, and hiking.
